This role is a stepping stone to great career achievements. We need a Carbon Analytics Data Scientist! This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote work with time in our Remote office. The Data Scientist’s role is to improve and expand Rappel’s core decarbonization model (CO2-AIM) by designing and developing Python code. This person will work directly within the Carbon Intelligence team and collaborate closely with the Software Development team to identify and implement mathematical logic, data science techniques, and data engineering across a spectrum of customer data, greenhouse gas accounting and decarbonization topics. What you'll do: • Act as product owner within the Carbon Intelligence team for select AI and ML tools used in carbon management, defining business cases, prioritizing feature development, and aligning tools with the broader decarbonization goals • Implement new modules and features to enhance the robustness of answers and transparency of results in the CO2-AIM modeling environment • Develop Python-based scripts to improve customer data quality using tools for anomaly detection, gap-filling, and clustering ​​​ • Design and implement scaled data pipelines for a variety of public and proprietary data sources to format, clean, and transform, and load for use in modeling ​ • Stay at the forefront of decarbonization knowledge and research, applying the latest insights to improve customer solutions and outcomes ​ • Contribute to ongoing maintenance and architectural integrity of the CO2-AIM model environment, ensuring reliable delivery to customers Who you are: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant industry, Master’s preferred • Proficiency in Python required, experience in SQL and cloud computing preferred • 3+ years of direct experience in data science and/or data analytics roles, with significant experience in machine learning and AI techniques • Direct experience and interest in climate, sustainability, energy, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform duties of the job • Demonstrated strong, independent organizational and process management across multiple workstreams and stakeholders, both internal and external • Proficient at combining and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and devise original solutions • Able to independently prioritize tasks and take initiative to deliver results, even in the face of evolving demands and challenges • Thrive in high performing team environment: clearly and confidently assert unique perspectives, proactively collaborate with team members, own individual workstreams while targeting and celebrating team success Apply tot his job
